Meet The Doctors

Dr. Sena
Sena E. Hiradate, DDS
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Sena is a Southern California native, born and raised right here in Torrance. She attended Anza Elementary, Jefferson Middle School and West High School. She then went on to the University of Southern California for her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and for her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She completed her two-year pediatric residency through NYU Langone in Hawaii, spending time in many community health centers on O‘ahu, Big Island and Maui. After her residency, Dr. Sena worked at Ko’olauloa Community Health Center on the North Shore of O‘ahu, where she started the pediatric dental department and was the acting Dental Director. She then returned to Southern California to work in private practice for several years but is now excited to carry on Dr. Wayne Tofukuji’s legacy.
This dental office holds a very special place in Dr. Sena’s heart. She grew up as Dr. Tofukuji’s patient and worked part time in the office alongside many of the current staff as a dental assistant in high school, college, and dental school. It was because of the opportunity that Dr. Tofukuji gave her that led to her pursuing pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Sena is happy to be back in her hometown, serving the members of the South Bay community and working alongside the staff that she considers to be her family. She strives to provide care that is tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient and is a competent and compassionate advocate for children with special needs. During her spare time, she likes to spend time with her friends, family and cats and dog. She enjoys spin, CrossFit and running and loves to follow USC Football. She is fluent in Japanese.

Dr. Wayne
Wayne T. Tofukuji, DDS
Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
I first became interested in helping children with their dental needs in 1979. I had just graduated from the USC School of Dentistry and was working for a few different dentists in their offices. One day a week I worked with children—and I was hooked. Soon after, I enrolled in the Pediatric Dentistry School at UCLA. Now, nearly 30 years later, I still love working with children.
At our office, children are our specialty. I am committed to taking the extra time and effort to teach them to be knowledgeable, motivated, and proud of good dental health.
My number-one goal is to provide your child with the finest pediatric dental care in a safe, gentle, professional manner. The result? Brighter smiles for a brighter future. Much has changed in the care and treatment of children’s dental needs over the years. But one thing hasn’t changed: my commitment to take care of your child’s dental needs just like if he/she were my own child.
